To diagnose mechanical auto problems in your vehicle before you do the annual Inspection can save you Time and Money!

All Texas registered vehicles are required to receive an annual inspection. Each state inspection service includes a comprehensive safety inspection; however, some vehicles are required to have an emissions test in addition to the safety inspection. Diesel-powered vehicles and motorcycles are exempt from the emissions standards but are still required to have the annual safety inspection.

Below is a list of safety items that are checked in order to receive a valid state inspection sticker:

How do you know when your vehicle needs a brake service or brake repair?

  • The brake pedal can be depressed nearly to the floor.

  • You hear a squealing or other unusual noise when you apply the brakes. Some brands of brake pads have a built-in device that produces a high-pitched squeal when the brake pads need replacing.

  • The vehicle pulls to one side when you apply the brakes.

  • You feel a grinding or bumpy sensation as you come to a stop.

  • In general, if there is something about your brakes that is making you uncomfortable, you should have them inspected.
